when he lived at 12 Thornhill Park, Sunderland. Unfortunately, the
glass in the frames has resulted in very faint scans.
Joseph was born in Radom c.1875, and his family
moved to Leeds in 1888.
He
married Sarah Rebecca in 1895 in Leeds. She was born
in Hull in 1877.

Louis was born in
Leeds in 1902 and ran a coal business. His first
wife, Cissie, and their daughter, Dorothy, died
within days of each other in 1935, and Louis then
remarried widow Celia Beckwith. They had several
children and Louis became known as "Louis the Coal
Man". He died in 1969.

lived the rest of his life there.
He was a much-loved
community figure, whose sudden death saddened many.
