Spr Samuel Kamensky (aka Shim, né Kaminski) of
the Royal Engineers
16 July
1918
Shim
is
seen here in the uniform of the Royal Engineers.
Unusually, his name does not appear on the World War
I medal roll, so he either did not fight abroad, or
did not fight abroad long enough to qualify for a
medal. Considering
his Polish birth and carpenter's
trade, it is most likely that he was employed in a
factory of some kind in Britain
and did not fight
abroad.
